Casual Strength and Conditioning Coaches

Ivanhoe Grammar School is seeking Casual Strength and Conditioning Coaches to support the delivery of high-quality training programs across Sport, Ivanhoe Edge and Swimming programs.

This role plays an important part in supporting students’ physical development, movement competency, confidence and overall wellbeing through structured and engaging training sessions. Coaches work with students across a variety of ages, abilities and performance pathways, helping to create a positive and inclusive training environment.

Working closely with the Head of Strength and Conditioning, Sports Coaches, Swim Coaches and School staff, the successful candidates will contribute to a consistent and student-centred approach to athletic development across the School.

Training sessions may take place before school, during the school day, at lunchtime and after school, depending on program requirements.

If you have experience in strength and conditioning, sport performance, exercise science or athlete development, and are enthusiastic about supporting young people to build confidence, movement skills and healthy training habits, we would love to hear from you.

What you will do

As a key member of the Strength and Conditioning team, you will:

  • Deliver structured and engaging strength and conditioning sessions that support safe student physical development
  • Support student athletic development through inclusive training aligned with long-term athlete development principles
  • Maintain accurate testing and performance records to inform training decisions and monitor student progress
  • Deliver consistent strength and conditioning programs across sport and swimming pathways
  • Maintain safe, inclusive and well-supervised training environments that promote student wellbeing and participation
  • Demonstrate professional conduct through effective communication, preparedness, punctuality and adherence to School expectations

Who you are

You are energetic, motivating and professional, with a strong interest in youth athletic development and wellbeing. You enjoy working collaboratively and are committed to helping students build confidence, movement skills and positive training habits.

You have the necessary experience, knowledge and skills:

  • Qualifications in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Movement Science, or a related field (or working towards)
  • ASCA accreditation, or a willingness to work towards accreditation
  • Experience delivering strength and conditioning, athletic development, or sports performance programs
  • Knowledge of long-term athlete development (LTAD) principles and safe training practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (desirable)
  • Additional experience in sports coaching would be highly regarded, particularly where candidates can contribute to Ivanhoe Edge programs and broader Sports Department initiatives
