Seeking a Head of Library Services

The Head of Library Services leads the strategic direction, culture and daily operations of the Ridgeway Library — a vibrant hub for learning, research and community connection for students from Years 7 to 12. As a key member of the Academic Leadership Team, you will collaborate with the Director of Academic Learning, Heads of Pedagogy, the Director of the Ivanhoe Institute, the Business Manager and other campus leaders to support the School’s strategic academic, operational and professional learning priorities.

In this role you will:

  • Provide strategic and visible leadership of the Ridgeway Library for Years 7–12, including oversight of budget and facilities in partnership with the Business Manager
  • Lead, mentor and empower a high-performing team to deliver excellent service and learning outcomes
  • Curate and manage contemporary physical and digital resources to support research, literacy and innovation
  • Design and deliver programs that develop information literacy, research capability and a culture of reading
  • Foster a welcoming, dynamic and student-centred learning environment that supports academic growth and wellbeing

Who you are
You are a strategic and relational leader who brings strong expertise in contemporary library practice and a deep commitment to student learning. You believe libraries are living, dynamic learning spaces where curiosity, research and personalised learning thrive.

You bring:

  • Qualifications in Library Studies, with eligibility for ALIA membership
  • Current VIT Registration
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing people, resources and learning programs
  • Strong capacity to consult, collaborate and build community across students, staff and parents
  • A proven commitment to child safety, inclusive practice and a positive learning culture

What we offer you

  • A collaborative, student-centred team culture where wellbeing is prioritised.
  • Opportunities for professional growth through the Ivanhoe Institute and school-led wellbeing programs.
  • Beautiful learning environments with access to purposefully designed facilities, including onsite café, gym and pool.
  • Salary packaging, discounted health insurance and school tuition discounts.

Always seeking great people. Your move.
