Seeking an Individual Needs Coordinator
The Individual Needs Coordinator is a member of the Academic Staff based at our University Campus, and plays an active role in the intellectual, social, emotional and personal development of students, supporting the School’s commitment to holistic education and a culture of character.
Commencing in January 2026, this is a part-time (0.8 FTE) ongoing teaching position, with a three-year leadership tenure.
What you will do
The Individual Needs Coordinator is a key member of our academic leadership team, working in partnership with the Head of Individual Needs, Heads of Pedagogy, and Curriculum Leaders to champion inclusive education across the School.
You’ll play a pivotal role in creating a culture where every student is supported to thrive — leading a dedicated team, building teacher capability, and ensuring consistent, high-quality support for diverse learners.
You have the experience, knowledge and skills to:
- Lead and inspire the Individual Needs team, fostering collaboration, shared learning, and professional growth.
- Coordinate targeted programs and interventions that enable every student to experience success and meet their individual learning goals.
- Guide the development and review of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and inclusive classroom strategies that enhance engagement and wellbeing.
- Build teacher capacity through coaching, professional learning, and modelling of evidence-based, differentiated practice.
- Strengthen connections between students, families, and staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student care and learning.
Who you are
You are a reflective and purposeful leader who believes that inclusion, learning and character are deeply connected. You recognise that every student’s growth is shaped by high expectations, strong relationships and a genuine sense of belonging.
You bring:
- Experience as an accomplished educator with a deep understanding of inclusive education and the diverse learning needs of students, supported by relevant qualifications — ideally with postgraduate studies in Education or Special Education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead, coach and collaborate confidently with teachers, Learning Support Assistants, families and allied professionals.
- A proven commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and equitable access to learning, supported by current VIT registration.
- The capacity to build professional trust, foster team growth and model a culture of respect, reflection and accountability across the School community.
- A growth mindset and a genuine desire to keep learning, share expertise and contribute to the ongoing development of inclusive practices at Ivanhoe.
What we offer you
- An impactful teaching role embedded in a thriving and values-driven educational community.
- A rewarding opportunity to lead inclusive practice and ensure every one of our 200+ secondary students at University Campus is supported to learn, grow and thrive.
- A collaborative, student-centred team culture where wellbeing is prioritised.
- Opportunities for professional growth through the Ivanhoe Institute and school-led wellbeing programs.
- Beautiful learning environments with access to purpose-built facilities, including onsite café, gym and pool.
- Salary packaging, discounted health insurance and school tuition discounts.
Always seeking great people. Your move.
