Seeking a Teacher of VCE Business Managment and Commerce 

The Teacher of VCE Business Managment and Commerce is a member of the Academic Staff based at the Plenty Campus, and plays an active role in the intellectual, social, emotional and personal development of students, supporting the School’s commitment to holistic education and a culture of character. 

This is a full time, ongoing position, starting Term 1, 2026.  

What you will do   

As a Teacher of VCE Business Management and Commerce, reporting to the Curriculum Leader and working closely with the Head of Pedagogy, you will collaborate with colleagues across year levels and subject areas to ensure consistency of high-impact teaching and student care.

In this role you will: 

  • Deliver purposeful, research-informed learning using Ivanhoe’s Instructional Model — Warm Up, New Learning, Dive In, Reflect 
  • Embed Universal Practices such as clear learning intentions, formative assessment and student goal setting 
  • Create calm, inclusive classrooms that support curiosity, collaboration, and high expectations 
  • Monitor and support student learning and wellbeing using a range of data, feedback and professional judgement 
  • Contribute to House life, co-curricular programs, and wider campus initiatives with visibility and enthusiasm 
  • Engage in reflective practice and professional growth through coaching, collaborative planning and shared learning that lifts team capacity and student growth 

Who you are  
You are a reflective and purposeful educator who believes that learning and character are deeply connected. You value the potential of every learner and understand that high expectations and strong relationships create the conditions for growth and personal success.  

You have the necessary experience, knowledge and skills to: 

  • Teach effectively in a school context, holding a relevant qualification, ideally complemented by postgraduate studies in Education, Curriculum or Pedagogy 
  • Demonstrate success in teaching Business Management at VCE level, with experience in Commerce viewed favourably 
  • Apply well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to engage confidently with students, staff, parents and community partners 
  • Uphold a strong commitment to child safety and inclusive practice, supported by a valid VIT registration 
  • Bring a solutions-focused mindset, high professional standards and a commitment to character education 
  • Model and foster a culture of respect, reflection and responsibility 
  • Embrace continuous learning, personal growth and the development of others
