Seeking a Leader of Curriculum and Learning Design – Numeracy Specialist 

Lead numeracy learning across our Primary Years. Strengthen curriculum and pedagogy, build teacher expertise, and foster a culture of high-impact teaching. 

The Leader of Curriculum and Learning Design – Numeracy Specialist is a cross-campus academic leadership role with a strategic curriculum focus on enhancing numeracy teaching and learning across Buckley House (0.8 FTE) and Plenty Primary (0.2 FTE). You will guide curriculum design, assessment and reporting, mentor teachers through instructional coaching, and drive a consistent, evidence-informed approach to pedagogy. 

The position will commence in Term 1, 2026 and hold a 3-year leadership tenure. 

What you will do   
The Leader of Curriculum and Learning Design – Numeracy Specialist is a key member of our Primary Cross-Campus Curriculum Team. Reporting to the Head of Buckley House and Working closely with the Leader of Pedagogy and Instructional Practice – Literacy Specialist, you will ensure an integrated, high-quality curriculum experience for all primary students and maintain a strong, visible presence across both campuses. 

You have the necessary experience, knowledge and skills to:   

  • Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of high-impact numeracy programs. 
  • Provide instructional coaching and mentoring to build teacher capacity and confidence. 
  • Use data and feedback to inform practice, measure impact and enhance student outcomes. 
  • Model innovative, inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices. 
  • Ensure curriculum documentation is clear, current and consistently implemented. 
  • Align teaching and learning practices with the School’s Annual Implementation Plan and strategic priorities.

You have the experience, knowledge and skills to: 

  • Drive improvement in numeracy teaching and learning through evidence-informed practice. 
  • Lead curriculum design, assessment and reporting to ensure clarity, consistency and excellence. 
  • Coach and mentor teachers, building capability and confidence across the Primary Years. 
  • Use data and feedback to inform decision-making, measure impact and enhance student outcomes. 
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, students and families across campuses. 
  • Hold current VIT registration and demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and inclusive practice.
