Seeking Alumni Sports Coaches – Athletics
Are you an IGS alum with a passion for athletics and a positive, can-do attitude? We are seeking two enthusiastic alumni to join our 2025 Athletics Program at the Plenty Campus as casual Sports Coaches.
This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the School community, inspire the next generation of IGS athletes, and build valuable coaching experience — all while reconnecting with fellow alumni and the wider school community.
What you will do
As an Athletics Coach, you will:
- Assist with training sessions at the Plenty Campus on Mondays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
- Support the development of student skills, fitness, and confidence in a positive, encouraging environment.
- Model sportsmanship, teamwork, and Ivanhoe’s values in every interaction.
- Engage and inspire students to participate fully and strive for improvement.
- Optional: Attend Saturday morning training at Knott Reserve, Clifton Hill (9:00 am to 11:00 am).
What you bring:
- A positive, energetic, and can-do attitude to supporting young people.
- A passion for athletics and helping students reach their potential.
- The ability to demonstrate appropriate behaviours when working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the initiative to both lead and follow direction.
- Previous coaching or mentoring experience is an advantage but not essential.
