About the Role
Our School is searching for a Production Manager and Theatre Assistant to support our Theatrical Performance and Drama Team. This is a “hands on” role and involves extensive planning and coordination skills, together with some of the physical tasks associated with setup, operation and dismantling of stage and equipment for productions such as plays, musicals and concerts. Primarily based at our Ivanhoe Campus, you will also be required to work at our Plenty Campus in Doreen from time to time.
This is a full time and ongoing role working term time only (39 weeks plus 4 weeks annual leave) to commence as soon as possible or by negotiation.
Your Everyday
Working under the direction of the Director of Theatrical Performance, the successful candidate will:
- Provide technical support to School productions
- manage daily operation of the Schuster Drama Studio and Workshop
- implement and coordinate production schedules with external hire companies
- act as Stage Manager for campus productions
- manage theatre maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in Stage and Theatre Management
- Qualification such as Diploma of Arts (Technical Production) or equivalent – desirable but not essential.
- proficiency with use of stage management equipment including audio and lighting
- have excellent customer service skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve team goals and meet deadlines
- demonstrated level of organisation skills to work flexibly and to manage conflicting and changing priorities
- ability to operate effectively under pressure and to prioritise work appropriately
- excellent personal presentation
- ability to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
