Seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach 

We are seeking a professional and passionate Strength and Conditioning Coach to support the athletic development, wellbeing and physical literacy of students across our campuses. This is a casual position, with regular sessional coaching and some event-based support across the year. 

This role sits within our Ivanhoe Edge high-performance program, which provides development pathways for student-athletes while promoting a healthy, balanced approach to training and competition. 

What you will do   
Working closely with the Head of Strength and Conditioning and the broader Ivanhoe Edge and Sport teams, you will: 

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based strength and conditioning sessions tailored to student age, ability and experience 

  • support the physical development of students from junior recreational through to elite performance levels 

  • supervise student use of training facilities and ensure safe, respectful gym environments 

  • monitor student progress and use data to inform and refine programs 

  • educate students on training habits, recovery, mindset and wellbeing 

  • work collaboratively with sport coaches, wellbeing staff and external providers 

  • contribute to a sporting culture built on character, care and high standards. 

Who you are  
You are an experienced coach who knows that care and performance go hand in hand. You understand young people and know how to create motivating, inclusive training environments. You’re organised, collaborative and confident — able to model professionalism while building strong relationships. 

You have the necessary experience, knowledge and skills: 

  • Experience coaching young athletes or working in a school-based setting, holding a graduate or relevant qualification 

  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with students, staff, parents and community partners 

  • a demonstrated commitment to child safety and inclusive practice, including a valid WWCC  

  • strong instructional skills and the ability to adapt programs to student needs 

  • confidence using data to guide program planning and monitor progress 

  • an understanding of load management and injury prevention 

  • a growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning 

  • a solutions-focused mindset, high professional standards and a genuine care for young people.
